Jeg er en 20 årig volleyball spiller, som i en længere periode har døjet med springerknæ. Jeg er af min fysioterapeut blevet anbefalet at køre en 10 dages ibumetin kur. Hvad er jeres erfaringer med dette?

Tak for dit spørgsmål. Ibumetin er det man kalder et Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID). NSAID sælges til dagligt under mange navne bl.a. Ibumetin, Ibuprofen og Ipren, men fælles for dem alle er det aktive stof Ibuprofen. Ibumetin anbefales ikke længere til springerknæ af 2 årsager. 1. I den kronisk, syge patellasene (patellar tendinopati) er der ingen tegn på inflammation i hvile eller akut efter træning. Grundet ingen positive markører for inflammation er der minimal til ingen effekt af anti-inflammatoriske medikamenter. 2. Flere studier har vist at tung styrketræning er den bedste behandling af springerknæ. NSAID minimere de fysiologiske tilpasninger i senen fra træning ved at inhibere funktionen af de inflammatoriske cytokiner.
